Alex Kreilein is the Managing Partner and Chief Threat Officer of SecureSet, an intensive cybersecurity academy and cybersecurity startup accelerator. He served as a Technology Strategist for the Department of Homeland Security and Guest Researcher for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. From 2008 to 2011, Alex was a Legislative Assistant for Rep. Jane Harman, where he covered technology and national security issues.

Alex holds an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College, an MS from CU Boulder in Telecom Science, and is a PhD candidate in that same field. He was the Managing Director of the CU Boulder Deming Center Venture Fund for two years, where he guided successful seed investments into early-stage tech companies. Alex is a Graduate Scholar with the Information Systems and Security Association, a Member of the IEEE and EFF, and an advisory board member of multiple startups in the field of cybersecurity and national security.
